missdenim asked: If you zoom in on Google maps and click on the location for the "Rocky Steps" you can actually click the "more" button and report a problem for the listing. (For those of you who are irritated). But, I should mention that when you zoom further in, Rocky Steps is listed in addition to Art Museum.

The "Rocky" Steps, formerly known as the...
My girlfriend, Allie, pointed this out to me a few weeks ago. I was reminded just now upon seeing this Reddit thread in /r/philadelphia.
I know this is a topic, unlike these cheesesteaks, that I’m going to get some very mixed opinions on from Philadelphians. Personally, this pisses me off. If you zoom in closer, you can see both “The Rocky Steps” and the “Philadelphia...

Mentally prepping to go into a backlog of emails to get into a rolling pace with posting again early next year.
Submit your non-cheesesteaks to thisisnotacheesesteak@gmail.com — Please no Twitter @ replies, FB wall posts (on both my personal and TINAC walls), text/MMS, emails to my personal email, snail mail or friggin carrier pigeons.
If you want me to post it, please email it to this...
garage-mahal asked: Okay, I'm no cheesesteak expert (my experience extends to eating at Phat Philly in SF whenever I can and longingly looking at Pat's King of Steaks on Google images), but that pita mess is just... sad.

Grilled Pepper Jack and Roast Beef Sandwiches
The only thing that makes this even remotely related to a cheesesteak is the fact that you’ve somehow managed to use the same animal. Roast beef does not a cheesesteak make.
Everything else isn’t even close.
On behalf of the city of Philadelphia, please remove all mention of “Philly” or “cheesesteak” from this recipe. Stick with the title you chose for your...

rinrinfantabulous asked: So I was in the Philly area over Thanksgiving, and Friday my family got steaks from a place in Croydon. Several members of my family ordered "pizza steaks," which were cheesesteaks with marinara sauce on them. Is this acceptable?

Reader opinions for steaks in NYC
This came in via email from a reader named Ryan. I’ll second his opinion of 99 Miles to Philly. They’re okay. I’ve never had Carl’s.
First off, good job carrying the torch. That Arby’s commercial made me want to puke. Now I’m from Boston and grew up eating “steakancheeses”, so take everything I say with a grain of salt. BUT, I dated a girl from...

Reader story about a quick stop before a flight
This is a great story from a reader named Bernhard.
This story doesn’t quite fit your theme, but I thought I’d share it anyway. Thanks for making me smile.
I’ve seen so many bad cheesesteaks outside Philly that I’ve given up testing them. I just have to go back to Philly occasionally to get my fix.
Last year, I was in Delaware with my wife and kids for a wedding. We...

schramm-blanton asked: Steak Ums are only used when making them at home, simply because you can use them in a frying pan and not a flat top.
betterthancookingmama asked: I agree that my pic is not a cheesesteak. :[ It was still delish though :] haha I want to go to Philly to really get the real taste of it! Oh, and the cheese was on the bottom of all the goodies. I like your blog.

In defense of the cheesesteak shop in Berkeley, CA
Reader James writes to me in defense of the cheesesteak shop found in this post.
Now while I did spend 4-5 years of my life in Allentown, I sadly have never had a cheesesteak in Philly…which may make me not very “Philly”, but I spent about 18 minutes yesterday cursing about Scott Hartnell’s terrible turnover yesterday to give the Caps their first goal.
That picture is...
