I had no idea “Jersey Mike’s” was such a large franchise. Of course there isn’t a single one of these in Philadelphia. We typically don’t have any restaurants that serve subs within our city limits (aside from damned Subway, who is an unstoppable force).
For the record, most of what Jersey Mike’s offers we’d call hoagies and their “hot subs” we have no name for. Though, I can tell you one thing, that “Famous Philly” (above) is by no means a cheesesteak. Just look at it, wrong peppers, meat and veggies don’t look chopped up enough and if the cheese is unmelted enough to even look like delicate little dairy curtains, then it’s completely wrong.
