I wouldn’t say subs so much as feeble attempts as cheesesteaks. Top: get that fungi out of my steak, I know it’s optional to some folks here in Philly, but it’s a never for me. Not to mention it’s using red onions which is a no-no and a copious amount of peppers, no. Bottom left: those veggies need to be chopped. The bread is all wrong. Bottom right: this one looks passable but there’s something wrong with the bread and the onions also could afford to be chopped.

Are you sure it was on point? It looks like Chinese food in the wrong kind of bread. Sadly, unlike the steak I posted that actually had Chinese food on it, I don’t think that’s what these sandwich creators were going for.

I like how you say you’re going to get an authentic Philly Cheesesteak and then use a photo from a place in Delaware. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great photo and a nice looking cheesesteak but it doesn’t look authentic. The roll is too short, doesn’t look like the right kind of bread and the peppers/onions are completely OPTIONAL.

Basically, this photo is too high on the production quality. The Liberty Bell stamps are a nice touch, as is that mountain of thin steak, but I’m not falling for it.

First I’m going to Philadelphia to get myself an authentic Philly Cheesesteak…and then visit some family.

Origin unknown.
Wrong bread, steak looks too thick, onions and peppers are too plentiful and not chopped up. Sorry. Nice photo though.

Red onions? Green AND red peppers?
White (or perhaps yellow) onions, sauteed or raw are the only onions acceptable on cheesesteaks. Red onions have a taste that’s too potent. If anything, chop ‘em up. Ugh. And what kind of bread is that?! Sourdough!? Talk about potent tastes. AHHHH
